Beautiful Rome seems to be a busy and cold capital for someone who has never been here, and have never faced the real amazing Rome..It was also for me, cool and posh all around, before i actually started to live here. There is something special with this ancient capital, it´s very simple, there can be prestigious meetings, important people living here, but at the same time the life is so much simplier and better than in any other little country´s capital.

Rome is special with its countless little markets, with food, clothes, fake bags , valets and belts, people selling everything, from antiques to the simpliest and cheapest things. Most of the prices surprised me from the start. And actually you can find a very good stuff there. Many are concentrated in the most popular areas of Rome, like Piazza Navona, which more for festival markets, like halloween, the famous La Befana Festival and Christmas market of course. The daily ones are in Campo dei Fiori, which is very near Piazza Navona and Pantheon. There are some in places that are a bit away from the center, in some areas, which might be even better and different.

So , some of them are open only on Mondays, such as Alatri Market, Atina Market, Fontana Liri Market and Fumone. The most popular for tourists sure are in the central areas, which are also more expensive and the stuff aren’t that good. There is one antiques market held on the 4th Sunday of the month in Piazza Verdi in the Parioli district. And very famous one held on every sunday is Porta Portese in Trastevere, right next to the River Tiber. There is a mess and that special market atmosphere, i imagine this is the real market! You can find anything there, food, clothes, books, perfumes, bicycles…
