Villa Ada

The summer has arrived. Along with the sun and heat came all the series of events in Rome. Open air concerts, cinemas, a whole new world with restaurants, clubs and many more along the river Tiber, places to hang out in the evening playing billiard or pinball.

Have you heard about Villa Ada? A perfect place to survive and enjoy summer in Rome, which may be sometimes too hot. A place where in the evening you can relax yourself listening to live music since Villa Ada offers you the open-air concerts every day. With the stage located close to small lake you can either stay close to scene and fully enjoy the concert or if not just bring yourself a blanket and have a late picnic drinking a beer, chatting with your friends with accompaniment of nice music.

Villa Ada itself is a second (just after villa Doria-Pamphilj) biggest park in Rome. Located on north just outside The Aurelian Walls, so little bit out of the centre, but because of that far less touristic. During the summer it attracts with some shelter from the sun and a lot of space to have picnic, play calcetto (mini football) or other games. If you like to do some work-out there is a special track prepared for you.

Whish to know some curiosities? While walking inside Villa Ada you may find remains of a bunker. That is because owners of the garden – noble family Savoia used to hide themselves there during bombing in the II World War. This is also the place where Italian dictator Mussolini was on July 25, 1943 dismissed from his duties by king Vittrio Emanuele III and therefore arrested. We may say that in the bunkers of Villa Ada, where nowadays you can simply take a calm walk, in 1943 finished the Fascist Era and the reign of Mussolini.

Villa Ada – a park of history, a place to ease off, have fun and breathe easy.
